PORTLAND, Ore. (KPTV) - Oregon Health and Science University received the largest gift given to a university in U.S. history on Thursday.
Thanks to a generous donation from Phil Knight and his wife Penny, the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute will received $2 billion.
The gift will help expand and accelerate diagnosis of cancer and will simplify the experience for patients and their families. It will also provide resources for nutrition, mental health, insurance guidance, and symptom management.

Every day we pledge that we will work as hard as possible to deliver the best treatments and the best care, because we know that’s what every patient deserves,” said Dr. Brian Druker with OH
