MAPLE HEIGHTS, Ohio (WOIO) - Two people are now in custody after a 28-year-old was fatally shot Saturday while loading groceries into his car at a Maple Heights Giant Eagle.
According to a release from the Maple Heights Police Department (MHPD), 28-year-old Timothy Kappenhagen died just before 7 a.m. on Sunday from his injuries.
The Giant Eagle is located at 5321 Warrensville Center Road in Maple Heights.
According to the MHPD, officers were called to the Giant Eagle around 1:40 p.m. on Saturday after Kappenhagen had been shot.
Police said Kappenhagen was loading groceries into his vehicle when the suspect approached him. The suspect and Kappenhagen struggled, and the suspect then appeared to shoot the victim.
