A Weslaco man and a Donna woman have been sentenced for sexually abusing a child as a “game” and filming it.

Luis Alberto Huerta, 44, and Jessica Gutierrez, 47, pleaded guilty on Nov. 6, 2024 and have been sentenced to 30 and 28 years in prison, respectively, according to a release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Texas.

During their sentencing, the court heard information detailing how the two “created a living hell for the victim,” forcing her to participate in a “game.”

In 2023, the investigation revealed that Huerta and Gutierrez began abusing the child when she was only seven and continued for another three years.

The two admitted to participating in the sexual assault of the victim and recording it.
