Nearly three dozen demonstrators protested Republican U.S. Senator Jon Husted outside the John S. Knight Center in downtown Akron.

Husted was the featured guest at an Akron Roundtable event.

Many protesters accused Husted of not communicating with constituents while others criticized his support of the "Big Beautiful Bill."

Absent and silent. That's how Ruth Golladay of Sagamore Hills described Republican Jon Husted's nearly seven-month tenure as Ohio's U.S. senator.

"We never see Husted. No one ever answers the phone at his offices," Golladay said. "He does not care."
