YORK COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) -- Emergency crews were able to rescue a person Wednesday who fell into a trench in York County.

A man stuck in a trench in the 3900 block of Bahn Avenue in New Salem Borough was first reported to dispatch at 4:13 p.m., A spokesperson for the York County Office of Emergency Management said.

The man was found by crews to have fallen to the bottom of an eight-foot trench and could not get out.

Trench panels were placed by special operations personnel to prevent the soil from collapsing. He was eventually pulled out after about an hour and a half.
