MACON, Ga. — Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) recently released a survey to learn about Georgia residents’ interest in a passenger train that would travel between Atlanta and Savannah.
The survey takes five to 10 minutes and initially asks for the zip code and county you live in.
It asks questions around trips to Atlanta, Augusta, Athens and Savannah. That part of the survey inquired about how often you traveled to those areas, the purpose of the trip, final destination, what mode of transportation you used and how long your stay was.
The survey also asks if you travel for business, sporting events and airports in both Atlanta and Savannah.
This potential passenger rail project has been in the works since 2022, according to GDOT’s website. They received the funds in 202
