BARABOO, Wis. (WMTV) - Blain’s Farm & Fleet employees in Baraboo helped save a customer’s life by using an AED, the company said Thursday.

In April, 73-year-old Jim Krueger of Reedsburg suffered a massive heart attack while shopping in the store’s outside yard, officials said.

Multiple store associates helped by calling 911, performing CPR and using the store’s AED until first responders arrived.

“We had five managers working in sync, and that teamwork helped save a life that day,” said store manager Jack Adams.

The Reedsburg man spent 12 days in the hospital before completing cardiac rehab.

“If I had collapsed anywhere else, I might not be here,” Krueger said. “Because of them and that AED, I get more time with my family. That means everything to me.”
