MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - Two brothers accused in deadly December apartment shooting were found not guilty Wednesday after a jury trial, online court records show.

The verdicts for Denivea and Denarian Ward came after a jury trial that lasted about a week.

Online court records show the verdict took about three hours from the time the jury was released until the time it was announced.

Denarian Ward, 18, was found not guilty of felony murder-armed robbery.

Denivea Ward, 20, was found not guilty of felony murder- as party to a crime and harboring/aiding a felon. A second charge of harboring/aiding a felon was dismissed.

The charges stemmed from the deadly shooting on Dec. 5, 2024, in the 1500 block of Troy Drive, which left Kwantrell Vargas , 22, dead.
