CONWAY, S.C. (WBTW) --Excitement radiated across Coastal Carolina University's campus on Thursday as many of the incoming freshman class got settled into their dorms, each of them greeted with the Chanticleer Spirit.
About 5,500 students are expected to live on campus this upcoming year. According to CCU, 2,957 freshman students are enrolled but make up only a fraction of the total enrollment.
Preliminary enrollment numbers show 11,634 total undergraduate and graduate students are set to spend the next year at Coastal, a number that excites university officials.
"We'll have our final enrollment numbers here in a few weeks, but we're very excited about another record year," said Steve Harrison, vice president for auxiliary enterprises and chief sustainability officer.
