MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) -- Volunteers were up bright and early for the “Back to School Cleanup and Supply Drive” at the Pepper Geddings Recreation Center.
The event, hosted by Keep Myrtle Beach Beautiful, was a way for community members to give back prior to Horry County Schools returning on Monday. Volunteers spent at least two hours picking up litter and also brought school supplies to help relieve the financial burden on teachers and parents.
“We donate all of our schools supplies there," said Yaritca Tinoco, program coordinator for Keep Myrtle Beach Beautiful. "We have notebooks, paper folders, markers, crayons, a little bit of everything. So [it's a] great way to give back to our teachers and help them for everything that they do.
