UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. (WTAJ) — A Penn State fraternity has been suspended for at least four years after a university investigation found it violated hazing policies.

The Lambda Lambda chapter of Phi Beta Sigma fraternity was issued the suspension, effective Aug. 4, following allegations of physical and mental abuse and forced physical activity. The investigation by Penn State’s Office of Student Accountability and Conflict Response began in March 2025 after credible reports surfaced. The fraternity was placed on interim suspension at that time.

University officials said the chapter will be ineligible to return before 2029, and if reinstated, will face an additional two years of probation. The fraternity’s national organization cooperated with the investigation.
