ALTOONA, Pa. (WTAJ) — Students on Penn State campuses who may be facing crisis or hardship will soon get a little extra support from a teddy bear.

The Because We Care Foundation works with first responders to distribute teddy bears to children facing traumatic situations. On Thursday, they announced a new partnership with Penn State University Police and Public Safety.

Those with the foundation said the teddy bears not only provide comfort, but also remind students and staff that they are never alone. First responders said they also benefit from having the bears, as having them available in traumatic situations also helps them feel like they're making a positive impact.
