HOLLIDAYSBURG, Pa. (WTAJ) — Football teams across Pennsylvania are gearing up for the upcoming season, and athletic trainers have prepared new plans to prevent catastrophic injuries from occurring.
For the Hollidaysburg Golden Tigers, who look to build off of one of the program's best seasons in school history, these changes happened fast. It took one incident last season to provide the spark to change.
"We are offering more CPR classes, hands-only classes, not only to our coaches, but our district staff to prepare them for any type of event," head athletic trainer Amy Smearman said. "We took a look at our emergency action plan. It's a constant work in motion."
