AYDEN, N.C. (WITN) - If last year’s 3rd round playoff appearance taught the Chargers anything, it’s confidence.
“It’s a great momentum shift,” new head coach Garrett Wingate said, “It’s all about our standard, this is where we need to be, and the kids know what it takes to get to that point.”
Wingate himself knows what it takes to get to that point as well, but has not done so as their head coach just yet. Last season, he was the offensive coordinator and took over after Paul Cornwell moved up to Pitt County Athletic Director.
This year the Chargers will also have a new starting quarterback, John Fields, but the majority of the other starters are back.
Included in that returning cast are four of their five offensive lineman from 2025, wide receiver Nygel Morgan, and leading rusher EJ R
