CANTON, Mo. (WGEM) - A mural artist from Covington, Virginia, started painting her latest work in Canton on Wednesday.

Muralist Cheyenne Renee started her project in 2022 to paint a mural in all 50 states, highlighting small communities and towns.

She’s also making a documentary of her stops along the way, called the “50 in 50 Project.”

She’s working with the Canton Main Street Association for her 28th stop in Missouri, and she hopes to get to all 50 states by the end of the year.

She said she was inspired by the landscape and natural elements of the area and said this mural will have the look of an old-time postcard.
