BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) - The bowling alley is a place where everyone can thrive, no matter their age. It hasn’t taken long for 86-year-old Myrna Schedel to find that out. She has been bowling for more than 55 years.

“Every Tuesday we’re here,” Schedel said. “Come rain or shine.”

However, she’s never played at the level she competed at earlier this month, until now. Her success at the state level earned her a spot in the 2025 United States Bowling Congress Senior Championships.

“I was the only one there that day that qualified,” Schedel said.

She didn’t know the tournament even existed prior to finding out after state that she qualified. She also said she never expected to do as well as she did. Schedel finished in sixth place out of 30 competitors in the oldest age group.
