SALADO, Texas — A nearly 200-mile high-voltage transmission line project is in the works across Central Texas, part of a joint project by LCRA Transmission Services Corporation and Oncor. Designed to deliver 765-kilovolt power to the growing Permian Basin region, the line would support rising energy demands from industries such as oil and gas, along with data centers.

The proposed route would begin in eastern Bell County, near a solar farm, and stretch west to Schleicher County, just south of San Angelo. The line would include transmission towers approximately 19 stories tall and spaced roughly 1,000 feet apart.
