MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WKOW) – The Wisconsin Department of Justice is spotlighting the importance of Missing Child Alerts, marking over a year since these alerts were introduced. The alerts aim to broaden public notifications about missing children.

“Too many Wisconsin families know what it’s like for a loved one to go missing,” said Attorney General Josh Kaul (D-WI). “The Missing Child Alert has added to the tools available that can help bring kids home safely.”

Sen. LaTonya Johnson (D-Milwaukee) emphasized the impact of the Missing Child Alert, saying it ensures children across Wisconsin receive the same urgency as AMBER Alerts.

“This alert system isn’t just a procedural change, but a lifeline for families in distress,” Johnson said.
