MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - WMTV 15 News is honored to announce it received two National Murrow Awards.

WMTV 15 News earned the national recognition for its Breaking News coverage of the Abundant Life Christian School shooting, and in Digital for its coverage of a Wisconsin kayaker who allegedly faked his own death.

To be considered for the award, stations must earn a Regional Murrow Award. A regional win advances the entry to be considered in the National Murrow Award Competition.

Edward R. Murrow Awards, presented by the Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA), are considered among the most prestigious and respected in broadcast journalism.

The awards will be given out at a gala on October 13 in New York City.
