Nevada is one of the worst states to live in, according to a WalletHub analysis that ranked the Silver State 45th out of 50 .
The study compared all states across 51 indicators of livability in five key dimensions, including affordability, economy, education and health, quality of life and safety.
Nevada’s low placement stemmed from poor scores in homeownership rate (48th), housing costs (48th) and safety (41st). The state also tied with California for the highest unemployment rate among states in June at 5.4% , according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. The District of Columbia’s rate was higher at 5.9%.
Data was obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau, FBI, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and other federal sources in mid-July.
