COLUMBUS, Ohio—While ex-U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown is preparing to run for Senate again in 2026, he’ll first have to get past a Democratic primary challenger who’s ready to sink millions of his own money in the race.
Fred Ode, an entrepreneur and philanthropist from Columbia Station in Lorain County, hasn’t run for public office before. But, in an interview, Ode (pronounced “OH-dee”) says he’s jumping in Ohio’s 2026 U.S. Senate race to help save the country.
