FARMERSBURG, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Thursday night, Farmersburg residents discussed concerns about flooding at a town hall meeting.

Residents say that when it rains, their yards and streets in some parts of town flood. A project manager with HWC Engineering came in and discussed the ongoing flooding issues and will try to come up with a plan to fix them.

Board President Jennifer Harrelson says there was a drainage project completed last year in town, but some areas still have problems.

"You also have to take into account that the rain that we have been getting is coming faster. Instead of hours you're getting 20, 30 minutes x amount of rain. So, the system because it's so old it's struggling to help with the drainage."

Their next meeting will be September 11.
