Sheriff's department conducting death investigation in Selma, Indiana

SELMA, Indiana — The Delaware County Sheriff's Department confirms they're at the scene of a death investigation .

13News has been told a person was found dead inside a car Thursday on East Jackson Street in Selma, about four miles east of Muncie.

Indiana State Police said they are conduction the investigation. Early Friday morning, an ISP spokesperson said a 10 year old "with a documented lifelong medical condition" was discovered in the vehicle Thursday evening. An immediate call went out to first responders, police and other emergency personnel.

The spokesperson said there does not appear to be suspicious circumstances connected with the death. The Delaware County Coroner will conduct an autopsy.

The investigation is ongoing.
