On eastbound I-80, there are new lane restrictions from about Harrison to L streets. This project will only take about a month.

But on westbound I-80, it's an entirely different story.
Drivers have been experiencing a commute conundrum for months.
In March, the typically three-lane stretch of westbound I-80 from Q to 144th streets was reduced to two lanes, creating intense morning and evening traffic jams.
NDOT's construction engineer for District Two, Barbara Gerbino-Bevins, said backups there aren't unique; they existed even before restrictions, which prompted the project.
