CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Classroom Central opened its doors to teachers across our area on Thursday, to get supplies for their classrooms as the new school year gets underway. The non-profit supports teachers and students in need, providing free classroom essentials and resources to local educators.
“It’s the glue sticks, it’s the pencils, the crayons and the markers. Those are items that we always run out of. And even if we ask for donations, it’s never enough throughout the year. So my supply comes from classroom central,” says teacher Tanya Powe. She continues, “This means that I can find tools and resources to help my students without going into my pocket.”
Classroom Central offers a free store for teachers on Wilkinson Boulevard, along with other community-supported programs.
