GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - University of Florida researchers are working on growing a cherry that normally doesn’t thrive in the United States.
Officials say they are working with a Brazilian colleague to study “Acerola,” also called the Barbados Cherry.

The cherry is commonly found in Brazil, Mexico, and other parts of Central and South America.
