One more round of a few morning coastal showers transitioning inland during the afternoon hours Friday. We’ll see a little less rain coverage than previous days. We’ll see enough sunshine to again push the high to near 90° with the heat index reaching around 100°.

A cold front will sweep through Friday night bringing drier northerly winds for the weekend with just a few isolated showers on Saturday. Highs will run in the mid to upper 80s with lows in the 60s.

Tropical Storm Erin’s track continues to stay well offshore of eastern NC next week with primarily some big surf for our beaches Tuesday through Thursday. We’ll continue to monitor the storm very closely for any shifts in the track.
