FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - Temperatures returned back towards 90 degrees again today, after a cooler day yesterday. Humidity returned alongside the heat as we felt like the lower 90s throughout the afternoon. High heat and humidity remain throughout the weekend along with a few chances for rain.

Rain showers and thunderstorms return to the forecast this weekend, as models have indicated we could see the formation of a system throughout the day tomorrow that could impact the afternoon and evening Saturday. Rain could linger into Sunday morning along with cloud coverage that should prevent conditions from getting too hot or too humid for a few hours. Skies are expected to clear and a heat index near 100 degrees could be possible later Sunday afternoon.
