We’ll continue to deal with morning coastal showers transitioning inland during the afternoon hours both Thursday and Friday. We’ll see a little less rain coverage on Friday. Pockets of heavy rain and rumbles of thunder will accompany the showers. We’ll see a few more breaks in the clouds both days allowing highs to peak near 90° both day with the heat index reaching around 100°.

A cold front will sweep through Friday night bringing drier northerly winds for the weekend with just a few isolated showers on Saturday. Highs will run in the mid to upper 80s with lows in the 60s.

Tropical Storm Erin’s track continues to stay well offshore of eastern NC next week with primarily some big surf for our beaches Tuesday through Thursday. We’ll continue to monitor the storm very closely for any shif
