BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WBRC ) - THE NEXT 24 HOURS: It’s been a tropical Tuesday across Alabama as a disturbance over the Gulf generates numerous scattered showers and storms.

The good news is the clouds and higher rain chances have helped to keep temperatures down the past few days.

We will have more unsettled weather for Wednesday, with scattered showers and storms during the day.

By Thursday, most of the activity will be more limited to the afternoon, with highs in the upper 80s. The heat will continue to build into the 90s for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with heat index levels topping 100º. We still could see some scattered storms and showers in the afternoon, and with hotter conditions, a few strong storms are possible.
