A woman is accused of stabbing another woman at a Morganton home Wednesday night.

Joanne Davis Hall, 64, of Morganton, was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon, according to the Morganton Department of Public Safety.

According to the department of public safety, officers responded to a report of a stabbing on Summit Street at around 8 p.m. on Wednesday.

Officers found 60-year-old Barbara Moore of Hickory with cuts on her arms.

According to public safety, the two women had been drinking together when they got into a “verbal dispute,” which turned into a fight. During the fight, Hall allegedly used a kitchen knife to strike Moore, the department of public safety said in a press release.
