STILLWATER - Each quarterback drill has been closely dissected by one coach during Oklahoma State's fall camp this month.

Kevin Johns has been in Stillwater for eight months. His official title is quarterbacks coach, but his role is almost make-or-break for success this season.

He'll be a major factor in deciding if Hauss Hejny or Zane Flores will take the opening snap in the Aug. 28 season opener against UT Martin.

Mike Gundy was picky when looking for a quarterbacks coach when overhauling his staff during the off-season. He didn't have to look far for Johns, who was at Oklahoma in 2024.
