A 78-year-old Detroit man accused of shooting three senior citizens at his apartment complex on Monday has been charged, officials said.
James Albert Britton was arraigned Thursday in the 36th District Court in Detroit, the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office said.
He is charged with four counts of assault with intent to murder; a count of possession of a firearm by a prohibited person; a count of carrying a concealed weapon; a count of carrying a dangerous weapon with unlawful intent; and six counts of using a firearm during the commission of a felony, authorities said.
A magistrate set the defendant's bond at $500,000 and scheduled his next court hearing for Monday.
