Concerns that a reduction in school crossing patrollers will impact the safety of children walking to and from school have been raised by a Clydebank Waterfront councillor.

During a recent IRED (Infrastructure Regeneration and Economic Development) committee it was confirmed that West Dunbartonshire Councillor would retain just 17 crossing patrol loations.

Councillor Lauren Oxley said she had received a number of concerns from parents in the Dalmuir area who are worried about the removal of crossing patrols around the local primary schools.

She also called for further road safety education to be made available in schools.
