A White Pine duo was arrested Thursday and charged with Aggravated Child Abuse under Haley’s Law in connection with the death of a five-year-old girl last year.

On November 19, 2024, at approximately 2:36 p.m., officers with the White Pine Police Department responded to a call on Harrison Road. They located Aurora Grace Hurst, age 5, who was found deceased. It was revealed at the time of the incident that Hurst had special needs.

Following an extensive investigation, on August 14, officers with the White Pine Police Department served indictments on Aurora’s parents, William Nicholas Sipple and Shirley Ann Hurst. Both were arrested and charged with Aggravated Child Abuse in connection with the incident on Harrison Road.
