The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) pulled a person from the Red River near the Redwood Bridge late Thursday night.

Emergency crews were called at 10:14 p.m. on Aug. 14 after reports of someone in the water. WFPS water rescue boats reached the individual and brought them to shore, where they were treated by paramedics and taken to hospital in stable condition.

It is not yet known why the person was in the river or how long they had been there.
