ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - As a 10% water and sewage rate increase goes into effect in DeKalb County on Friday, officials have announced a program to help low-income households manage the change.
Operated in collaboration with the Urban League of Greater Atlanta, a new water rate assistance program (WRAP) caps certain households’ bills at 4.5% of their annual income.

To be eligible, homes must be at or below 60% of the metro’s U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s adjusted home income limits , which range from $48,000 for one person to $90,480 for eight people.
