Changing the rules: Fred Ode, a Lorain County entrepreneur, says he’s entering Ohio’s Democratic U.S. Senate primary and is ready to spend millions of his own money to win over ex-U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown. As Jeremy Pelzer reports , Ode is a political newcomer who says he’s running for Senate to help Democrats and moderates stand up to Republicans. Brown, Ode says, is “playing by the old rules. ...Democrats have to make things happen.”

Different strokes: Husted and Brown would be two very different representatives of Ohio in the U.S. Senate, both in terms of their priorities and their voting record on key issues. Pelzer has more on the gulf between the two when it comes to issues such as the economy, healthcare, and helping/resisting President Donald Trump.
