The Jersey Village City Council will hold a public hearing on Aug. 18 for raising the property tax rate in the proposed Fiscal Year 2025-26 budget. The council may also move forward with adopting the budget, which has been adjusted slightly since it was filed July 3, according to city officials.
The breakdown
The city proposed a FY 2025-26 tax rate of $0.8146 per $100 of home valuation. City staff confirmed the rate will increase property tax revenue by approximately $1.5 million compared to last fiscal year.
According to the council’s budget packet , this falls below the voter approval tax rate of $0.8256 per $100 of home valuation and above the no-new-revenue tax rate of $0.7494 per $100 of home valuation.
