OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Jobs for low income seniors in Nebraska and Iowa are at risk.

The National Able Network was supposed to get federal funding for its new fiscal year last month.

None of that has been handed out yet.

Officials with the Senior Community Service Employment Program at New Visions says if they don’t get the funds by next week, the network will run out of money to keep people hired.

“When you’re talking about a nonprofit, you have budget constraints. So that would be a huge hit for us obviously in staffing alone in staff salaries,” Stephanie Wallar with New Visions said.

The process typically lasts two months, but officials say they could be waiting until December to get the money.
