PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – Authorities have identified the man found shot to death inside a North Portland motel on Monday.

Officers responded to the Portland Super Value Inn near 5205 N Interstate Ave. around 7:50 p.m. on a welfare check and found 41-year-old Philip E. Redmon already dead.

A medical examiner determined Redmon had died of homicide by gunshot wound, but an investigation is ongoing as the shooter remains at large.
