Ana Navarro, political commentator and co-host of “The View,” asked singer Gloria Gaynor to deny the award from the Kennedy Center after President Donald Trump chose her to receive the honor.
Trump, who is now the chairman of the Kennedy Center, announced his picks for the annual honors on Wednesday. The recipients included Gaynor, country star George Strait, actor and singer Michael Crawford, actor Sylvester Stallone, and the rock band Kiss.
Navarro took to Instagram with a message to Gaynor after Trump’s announcement.
