U.S. Representative Greg Steube (R-Fla.) has introduced a new bipartisan bill, the Create Accountable Respectful Environments (CARE) for Children Act, to address the critical shortage of housing for foster children. The legislation would amend the Social Security Act to allow federal funds to be used for cottage family homes, providing a new avenue for foster care placements.
Rep. Steube emphasized the bill’s goal of providing a stable and nurturing environment for children in need. “Every son and daughter of America deserves a roof over their head with patient and supportive parents to guide them,” he stated.
