PORTLAND, Ore. — The Multnomah County Medical Examiner’s Office is investigating a second death potentially linked to August’s 90-degree heat wave.

The latest case involves a 57-year-old woman found Thursday in the 97214 ZIP code. On Wednesday, a 59-year-old man was found in the 97233 ZIP code.

The county has not released details about the man and woman, including their identities or the exact locations where they were found.

Both deaths remain suspected heat-related cases and are under investigation. The medical examiner’s office said it could take several weeks to months to confirm the cause of death. Further tests will determine whether heat was a factor or if other causes were involved.
