Santa Maria residents are invited to review and provide feedback on a draft of the City's update to the General Plan, with several public meetings both in-person and over zoom planned to review the draft.

The Community Development Department is preparing the comprehensive revise of the City’s General Plan including defining goals, policies and implementation activities to serve as the master plan for Santa Maria’s growth for the next 25-30 years.

The draft environmental impact report analyzes the potential environmental impacts of the growth outlined in the plan.

The public review period, which began on Thursday, is an opportunity for residents to review the plan and to provide feedback. Both the proposed EIR and General Plan are available for public review and comment through Sept.
