PEORIA, Ariz. — The Peoria Police Department has reopened its investigation into allegations of hazing and sexual misconduct within the Liberty High School wrestling program after an "individual came forward expressing concerns related to the original investigation," a spokesperson told 12News.
The state championship-winning program spent much of 2024 under scrutiny from both police and the Peoria Unified School District after a parent came forward early in the year with video evidence of inappropriate behavior.
One video, taken during a January wrestling tournament trip to Tucson, allegedly shows two male wrestlers restraining a teammate on a hotel bed and pulling down his pants, exposing his genitals and buttocks, a police report states.
