BESSEMER, Ala. ( WBRC ) - The family of Terence Bernard Summers Jr., a 24-year-old father of three and well-known local barber, is pleading for answers following a crash that claimed his life earlier this year.
Summers died on March 18, 2025 after his car struck a large metal chain on the roadway near Academy Drive and the Alabama Adventure exit.
His family believes the chain may have fallen from a transport truck and is calling on the public to help identify whoever is responsible.
“It was broad daylight, around lunchtime, when this happened,” said attorney David Brown, who is representing the family. “He did nothing wrong, but someone allowed this to fall off their trailer.”
Brown said the one-ton chain appeared to be used in logging or sawmill operations.
