LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A person is in the hospital after a crash on the Clark Memorial Bridge early Saturday morning.

Louisville Metro Police officers responded to a report of a vehicle that had crashed on the 2nd street bridge around 7:45 a.m.

Upon arrival, they found a single car that had collided with the base of the bridge on the Kentucky side.

According to LMPD, preliminary investigations show that the driver, for some unknown reason, lost control of the vehicle. It then struck the sidewalk barrier and ended up falling along the side of the bridge, near Troll Bar.

The person was transported to the hospital with non-fatal injuries, however the current condition is unknown.

LMPD's First Division is handling the investigation.
