SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - A heat advisory remains in effect until 8pm tonight across Siouxland due to heat index values climbing near 105.

Overnight tonight will be warm muggy with lows in the lower 70s.

Skies will be mostly sunny in the morning, but showers and thunderstorms will move in after 1pm in far western Siouxland. The main storm activity timing is still a bit vague but looking to be strong to severe between 3pm and 3am. Hail and damaging winds look to be the main threats with a small chance for a brief tornado or two mainly in northern Siouxland. Highs will be hot once again in the low to mid 90s with heat index values in near 105.

Monday will be mostly sunny with highs in the lower 90s and heat index values in the upper 90s.
