ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - Finding forever homes for animals across the St. Louis region.

As their capacity reaches its max, a pair of shelters were out in the community on Saturday.

The St. Louis County Pet Adoption Center held an event at Crate & Barrel in Richmond Heights, putting on display some of their pets up for adoption.

People were able to meet the animals and see how they interact in a public setting.

St. Louis County will also hold its first-ever “spay & neuter clinic” next on Aug. 23 at its Olivette location.

Also on Saturday, Stray Rescue of St. Louis hosted an emergency adoption event, because their shelter is at critical capacity.

Stray Rescue has had to close its doors to rescues as a result.
